THE CALL OF PLANETARY RESILIENCE
For the first time since the creation of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), Brazil will host a meeting that will bring together the Council of Sustainable Settlements of Latin America (CASA LATINA) and GEN. A Visions Council will be held (a meeting modality that emerged in Mexico and North America in the late 1990s), which will bring together diverse activists, permacultores, educators and indigenous leaders from across the planet on thematic councils to discuss and plan PRACTICAL ACTIONS for bioregional and planetary resilience.
The meeting will take place in OCTOBER 2017 at the IBC headquarters in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, a small tourist town of 7000 inhabitants, in the region of Chapada dos Veadeiros, HotSpot of biodiversity. This place is part of the Cerrado biome (Brazilian savanna) and is 230 km from the federal capital: Brasilia.
The meeting will be divided into 3 large blocks, which are connected throughout the day, beginning with the Biennial Assembly of CASA LATINA and the Assembly of the GEN (reserved for the members of the respective networks) and culminating with THE CALL OF PLANETARY RESILIENCE, an open event for groups, NGOs, ecovillages, networks, citizens and citizens interested in the issues addressed.
Within the gathering we will also have a GLOBAL CONVERGENCE OF POPULAR PERMACULTURE and a Council of Visions of shamans and midwives, both counting on the integration of social technologies and ancestral knowledge in a constant exchange, with the focus in strengthening initiatives already existing all the world. In addition, we will host a Latin American Encounter of Eco-caravans.
