Mission Statement
We are building a new way of living, full of play, creativity, nature, and love.

Community Description
RainSong is a small intentional community located in the thickly wooded foothills of the Cascade Mountains about 45 minutes east of Seattle. We have a comfortable rustic house with many bedrooms, wild edibles, tall trees and a salmon bearing creek singing along one border.

We are building a new way of living, full of play, creativity, nature, and love. Informed by the work of Charles Eisenstein and Jon Young (8 Shields), we are creating “the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible,” a place we all belong, where we are each honored and connected.

We are passionate about our food, and strive to choose organic (or better!) ingredients as much as possible. We include both (local) meat eaters and vegetarians, and create both traditional foods (raw milk, kefir, kompucha, kimchee, coconut oil and healthy fats, organ meats, bone-broth soup) and brand-new receipes.

We are fascinated by permaculture, primitive skills, non-violent communication (NVC), and alternative paradigms. We are passionate unschoolers, letting our children (and our adults!) choose their own paths and learn from their community and mentors.

We like to cook together, eat together, work and play together. We value privacy, and each adult or family has their own bedroom, but we greatly enjoy the community of sharing our common spaces together, and socializing, and learning from each other. While we value long term members, we also know that life is change, and we usually have a couple room openings every year.

We often host community gatherings, so please email if you’d like to come visit us. Please tell us about yourself when you do: what you are passionate about, what you want to do, what cool stories you might share!

We are part of Barefoot Village, a collection of local individuals and families. Barefoot Village gathers throughout the seasons to celebrate connection, share our gifts, and belong to a supportive community.
