In August 2023, little Deng Deng—then not quite four years old—moved into the Thailand Home with his Chanyuan member parents. Now, two years have passed since he began his life in the community.
I still remember when he first arrived: adorable and shy, quiet and introverted, clinging to his parents and often crying or throwing tantrums when things didn’t go his way. But after two years of life in the community, he has grown into a much more sensible and understanding child. He’s now independent, articulate, and able to communicate with others confidently. His emotions are tender and warm, and he often brightens the day with sweet words for his many “moms and dads” in our big family.
Life in the idyllic Home allows Deng Deng to grow up immersed in nature—surrounded by flowers, vegetables, and fruits; playing with insects and animals; and running freely through the mud under the open blue sky. This close connection with nature has nurtured his healthy, joyful, and carefree spirit. His playful nature has blossomed fully. Often following his hardworking parents into the fields, he not only builds physical strength but also finds joy and fulfillment in labor. From an early age, he is developing a love for work and a sense of contribution.
In our big family, every man is a father and every woman is a mother. Surrounded by care and companionship, Deng Deng grows with much love and warmth. Through playing, interacting, and communicating with every parent and every visitor to the community, his understanding of the world expands quickly.
The education in the Home is very different from that of the outside world—it is free from pressure and competition. The goal is to nurture physical and mental well-being, teach practical knowledge and survival skills, and cultivate moral character. Beyond that, children also learn about the universe, nature, and the essence of life—gaining insight into the origins of life and learning to live in harmony with nature and all living beings. In this way, they not only experience a happy, free, and joyful childhood, but also begin building a beautiful foundation for their souls’ future.
Over these past two years, Deng Deng’s innocence, liveliness, and cheerful spirit have brought endless joy, vitality, and laughter to the Thailand Home. Please enjoy these photos of his two years in our Home, and join us in celebrating the happiness and beauty of his growth!
Let us also pray that children all around the world may grow up healthy, happy, joyful, free, and blessed.
