On April 26, Yangle Qianzi and our new member Maidi participated in a workshop organized by TEDx Chiang Mai 2025, attended a series of talks themed around human sustainable development, and engaged in discussions and exchanges with other participants on related topics.
The event gathered over forty participants, including students, members of non-profit organizations, and people from various backgrounds who are passionate about environmental protection and concerned with humanity's sustainable future.
In the morning, the workshop featured the 2030 SDGs Game, an immersive simulation game originally developed in Japan. The game aims to help people understand the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explore how collaboration can lead to a balanced and harmonious development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Through firsthand experience, participants sensed the urgency and critical challenges humanity faces regarding sustainable development, which broadened their global perspectives and strengthened their sense of personal responsibility and action.
In the afternoon, participants watched TED videos on topics such as AI, refugees, climate change, and social media. Afterward, everyone was randomly divided into groups to discuss the topics we found most engaging, sharing personal experiences and reflections.
During the discussions, we naturally and spontaneously introduced the "Second Home" model and the Thai Home community to several group members. We shared our belief that to achieve true sustainable development for humanity, it is essential to address the root causes of all crises. Some participants resonated deeply with our philosophy and lifestyle; some expressed a desire to visit the Thai Home for a firsthand experience, others showed interest in reading the theories of Lifechanyuan, and a few offered to contribute ideas and wisdom to help us develop economic projects.
The participants were full of positive energy, vitality, and proactive thinking. They genuinely care about the future of humanity. Although many have yet to realize how to address the root issues, they are all striving toward the goal in their own ways. Interacting with them was not only enjoyable but also inspiring, filling us with hope for the future.
After the event, Yangle approached the TEDx host to inquire whether there might be an opportunity to introduce our community on the TEDx stage. The host responded warmly and exchanged contact information with Yangle. Seven years ago, Yangle had already expressed a wish to one day speak at TED and introduce Lifechanyuan. Now, it seems that this dream may soon come true!
