Resisting Tyranny – Part 19: Evil Regimes Are the Greatest Killers of Productivity

After China’s Reform and Opening Up, the economy surged at an astonishing pace, and the country’s total economic output rose to the forefront of the world.
What caused this rapid growth?
Was it the brilliance of evil regimes?
The superiority of top-down design and a planned economy?
Was it the corrupt officials who got rich first and supposedly led the boom?
Or the economists and so-called experts who served as cheerleaders for evil regimes?
No—all of that is false.
The real and fundamental reason behind the economic boom was this:
During a time of extreme economic hardship, the leaders of evil regimes were forced to loosen the ropes and shackles that had bound the people, allowing them to seek their own paths and develop freely.
Once people are granted freedom, society bursts forth with unprecedented vitality.
Among the masses lies boundless creativity—countless skilled individuals, potential Nobel laureates, people of great vision and noble spirit, and angelic beings full of compassion and wisdom.
Once this innate freedom is unleashed, not only does the economy flourish, but society begins to thrive with harmony, joy, and auspicious energy.
The achievements of the Reform and Opening era were not the result of some mysterious wisdom or supernatural power of those in high places, who appeared dignified and respectable.
They came from the unleashing of the people's intelligence, ingenuity, and hard work—once their restraints were lifted.
But the moment an evil regime resumes control—
the moment top-down designs are imposed,
the moment planned economies return,
the moment state-owned enterprises begin to dominate again—
the economy contracts almost immediately.
Why? Because the regime once again binds the hands and feet of the people and shackles their minds.
I think of the thirteen poetic, picturesque paradises of Lifechanyuan that were destroyed by evil regimes.
Take Branch Four, for example: on a mountainside, we created a breathtaking, idyllic haven in harmony with nature.
We planted thousands of fruit trees, raised chickens, ducks, and fish, and nearly a hundred Chanyuan Celestials lived joyfully and freely.
It was a paradise on Earth—not guided by the evil regime, not funded by the evil regime, but a shining testament to the wisdom and creativity of Chanyuan Celestials.
Among the people lies infinite creative power and a radiant future.
When beautiful dreams go unfulfilled, when long-cherished hopes are crushed, the root cause is this:
evil regimes have strangled the productivity and creative power of society.
So let all people remember this truth:
Evil regimes are the greatest killers of productivity.
As long as evil regimes remain, the people will never live a truly good life.
